Details: October 2011, BDT Energy Group, Inc completed an LED lighting retrofit and replaced all the old T8 fluorescent tubes in the Riverside Metro Building. It is a seven story office building along with a parking garage and it is one of the largest office buildings in downtown Riverside. Products Used: BDT 4’ and 2’ G5 EPS E58i T8 Tubes, Color-Office White; LED PAR20 Warm White, LED PAR30 Warm White, LED PAR38 Warm White, LED MR16 Natural White, LED A19 Warm White
Customer Satisfaction: The customer is extremely happy with all of BDT’s LED products, the light quality of the bulbs, the installation and the 50% energy savings they now have over their old conventional lighting.
Rebate: The customer received a $25,000 rebate from Riverside Public Utilities and they were able to receive Federal and State Tax Credits. Besides these savings, a reduction in lighting watts resulted in the same reduction in heat when taking into account the HVAC cooling cost. The impact is that a 1 kWh saving is actually a 1.3 kWh savings. So now they have increased their savings by an additional 30% bringing the total to an 80% savings overall by using BDT’s LED lighting.
Product Specifications: BDT’s UL listed G5 EPS E58i T8 LED Tubes are Max. 36VDC input, matching with a UL listed external power supply which is 100~277VAC input. BDT’s external power supply is a low voltage patented thermal control technology that replaces the existing high wattage and hazardous ballast needed for fluorescent lighting.
BDT’s high quality LED products have a special designed aluminum housing which provides an excellent thermal property and performance with a lifetime of 50,000 hours which equates to 17 years of life at 8 hours a day of usage, compared to 5,000 to 10,000 hours from conventional fluorescent lighting. The long lifetime of BDT’s LED bulbs also eliminates the need of ongoing bulb and ballast maintenance and disposal.
"GREEN" Building: Chippewa Enterprises has taken the initiative to go green with their lighting to save energy and to help the planet.
